Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture introduces the perspectives and methods of European Ethnology in history and present, familiarizes with different theoretical approaches, central terms and concepts and presents exemplary research fields of the subject. In doing so, not only the keywords and topics of today's academic life are presented and reflected upon, but also those that have played a prominent role in the subject's tradition and history. The perspectives characteristic of the subject today will be examined, as well as why and how bodies of knowledge are replaced and transformed or even discarded in the history of a discipline.
