Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Das Seminar beschäftigt sich mit Körperbildern im Jugendstil und Symbolismus in Wien um 1900. Besonderes Augenmerk wird auf Bedeutungen von Ornament, Symbol, Allegorie und mythologischen Verweisen liegen. Wir werden das Verhältnis von Kunst und Psychoanalyse untersuchen, wobei Vorstellungen über die Beziehung zwischen Körper und Geist, Alltag und Traum, Natur und Kultur sowie die damit verbundenen Geschlechterbilder und ihre Visualisierungen in den Blick kommen. Besprochen werden Werke von Künstlern wie Gustav Klimt, Kolo Moser, Egon Schiele oder Otto Wagner.
