Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to the history and culture of Byzantium combined with an overview of the history of Byzantine studies and related subjects and methods.

Acquisition of basic knowledge of the discipline of Byzantine studies and the history of the field

Lectures with participation by the students in discussion and independent work with the sources

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination (100%). No additional materials may be consulted during the examination.
