Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course deals with the language usage in (digital) media. The aim of the Bachelor's seminar is to enable students to carry out an independent and successful media-linguistic research project that leads to a BA thesis. In the course we will develop theoretical basics of media linguistics and relevant analytical categories, as well as rehearse empirical methods with written (and multimodal) data.

Assessment and permitted materials

- Active attendance and participation
- work assignments
- Short presentation of the individual BA project
- Written thesis (30 pages main text, deadline: 29.02.2020)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The final grade is awarded on the basis of the written and oral performances (assignments, presentation, BA thesis). In order to successfully complete the course, the BA thesis must have been positively evaluated.
