Aims, contents and method of the course

Las escalas de prominencia (escala de animacidad, escala de referencialidad, escala de topicalidad, etc.) son generalizaciones robustas elaboradas mediante estudios comparativos entre muchísimas lenguas tipológicamente diversas. Estas escalas se usan frecuentemente para formular universales lingüísticos implicacionales en la literatura. En este curso veremos como estas escalas se han empleado recientemente para explicar escisiones en la estructura argumental del español. Hablamos de escisiones cuando encontramos un contraste en la expresión dentro de una categoría gramatical, como por ejemplo la marcación de ciertos objetos directos por una preposición (a), en cuanto que otros objetos directos no se marcan. En el curso discutiremos cuatro fenómenos centrales de la morfosintaxis española que exhiben este tipo de escisiones: la marcación diferencial del objeto (el “acusativo preposicional”), la reduplicación de clíticos, el leísmo y el objeto nulo. Investigaremos lo que estos fenómenos tienen en común y lo que los separa, llevando en consideración su historia y la variación que encontramos en diferentes variedades contemporáneas del español.
Durante las clases se tratarán las preguntas y controversias más discutidas en la actualidad a partir de presentaciones orales preparadas por los estudiantes y de la lectura individual de textos seleccionados.
