Aims, contents and method of the course

Das Seminar behandelt zentrale Phänomene der Nominaldetermination in den romanischen Sprachen aus diachroner und synchroner Perspektive. Auf Basis von Überblicksartikeln aus Handbüchern und der Forschungsliteratur werden sowohl diachrone Prozesse als auch Phänomene synchroner Variation sprachvergleichend diskutiert. Die Themen umfassen in der Diachronie die Herausbildung der Determinierersysteme und der Struktur der Nominalphrase; im Bereich der Synchronie unter anderem die Verwendung von Eigennamen, die Nominalmorphologie, Modifikation, artikellose Nominalphrasen, und schwache Definita. Die Teilnehmer:innen bekommen somit einen umfassenden Überblick über die Phänomene der Nominaldetermination in der studierten Sprache. Darüber hinaus eignen sie sich ein Instrumentarium zur präzisen und kohärenten syntaktischen und semantischen Analyse dieser grammatischen Domäne an und werden so in die Lage versetzt, die analysierten Phänomene wissenschaftlich zu erklären und Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede in den romanischen Sprachen einzuordnen.
