Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Written exam (essay).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Three out of four questions must be answered correctly. The questions each comprise individual sub-questions. If all of these sub-questions, totaling three questions, are answered with reference to the lecture material and examples, students achieve 100% and thus a grade 1, between 90 and 80% a grade 2, between 80 and 65% a grade of 3, and between 65 and 55% a grade of 4. If less than 55% is achieved, no positive grade is possible.
Examination topics
The core contents of the individual units on hermeneutics, literary sociology, narratology including the question of first-person narratives, discourse analysis, psychoanalytical literary theories, intertextuality, gender studies and postcolonialism with the ability of cross-referencing and applying them to concrete texts.
