Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The CEFR and its current role in Austrian AHS and BHS curricula and final examinations will be discussed, followed by a short survey on the theories and basics of foreign language acquisition. A critical look on text books will be encouraged and might help to establish the criteria for course design and lesson planning. The next aspect will be the teaching of the four skills, with special emphasis on the particularities of the Spanish language. Finally, a critical approach to correcting and assessing learners' performance will be aimed at.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course aims at giving students a gerneral idea of the CEFR and its current role in Austrian curricula and final exams and it tries to familiarize them with the basics and methods of systemetic foreign language acquisition, the criteria relevant for assessment and a critical approach to textbooks (i.e. basis for work groups)
