Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This class is meant to give future teachers of English a foundation on which to define their learning aims, select their materials, prepare their activities and evaluate their students' achievements in connection with the use of literature in the EFL classroom. While a selection of literary texts will be contextualised and analysed from the perspective of literary studies, the potential of these texts for the literature classroom will be analysed from a didactic perspective. Students will engage in group presentations, peer teaching and reflection activities, and will be expected to write an individual academic paper. Students will also be expected to try out an activity based on literature in an ELT setting. The thematic focus of this class will be on "(non)-fictions of food".
