Aims, contents and method of the course

Grundlagen der Gräberanalyse in Vorderasien: methodologische Ansätze und Fallbeispiele im Großraum Vorderer Orient.

Assessment and permitted materials

Referate und schriftliche Ausarbeitung in Form einer Seminararbeit; schriftliche Tests.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Einführung in die verschiedenen analytischen Methoden zur Beschreibung und Deutung von Gräbern im Alten Orient.

Examination topics

Archäologisch, kulturgeschichtlich-philologisch, kulturanthropologisch, naturwissenschaftlich.

Reading list

Parker Pearson, Michael: 1999, The Archaeology of Death and Burial. Sutton; Laneri, Nicola (Hrsg.): 2007, Performing death: social analyses of funerary traditions in the ancient Near East and Mediterranean. Chicago. Mehrere für die Lehrveranstaltung relevante Aufsätze (14) sind im Handapparat der Fachbibliothek hinterlegt. Bis zum Beginn der LV (04.11.2009) wird die Einsicht in diese Unterrichtsmaterialien vorausgesetzt. Weitere Literatur wird begleitend zur Lehrveranstaltung bekannt gegeben.
