Aims, contents and method of the course

October 4 and 11, 2011: Organizational introduction to bachelor studies in Development Studies (curriculum, demands, course registration system, important facilities for students, important legal hints etc.) (Görgl/Grandner)

Assessment and permitted materials

Written test: January 10, 2011, February 7, 2012.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The lecture course "Introduction to the interdisciplinary Programme and Orientation" will familiarize students with the demands and the pecularities of academic studies, in particular with interdisciplinary Development Studies. By the lecture course (= Module StEOP A) students get to know the linkages of development research with the disciplines of sociology, political science, economics, and history.

Examination topics

Lecture course with some possibility of asking questions and of discussion; reading; a tutorial will accompany the lecture course.

Reading list

Der Lesestoff (ca. 400 Seiten, verpflichtend) wird spätestens zu Beginn der Vorlesung bekanntgegeben.
Obligatory readings (app. 400 pages) will be announced not later than at the beginning of the lecture course.
