Aims, contents and method of the course

Historisch gesehen ist der Ayurveda keine Alternativmedizin, sondern über Jahrhunderte das große, orthodoxe Medizinsystem Südasiens. In dieser Vorlesung soll beleuchtet werden, wie diese Tradition ihren prominenten Platz erringen konnte, welchen Herausforderungen sie sich stellen musste und wie sie sich dennoch grundsätzlich behauptet und sogar global etabliert hat. Im Rahmen dieser historischen Betrachtung soll auch auf die Grundlagen und Haupt-Merkmale des Ayurveda ausführlich eingegangen werden.
Da es sich um eine Vorlesung handelt, wird ein Großteil der Lehrveranstaltung als Frontalunterricht abgehalten, für ausführliche Diskussionen zu den Inhalten soll aber dennoch genug Zeit zur Verfügung stehen.
