*) Attendance (max. 3 missed hours) and active participation in class: Attendance at the first class session is mandatory (for official enrollment in the course). The written tests administered during the course are the primary basis for evaluation. Therefore, attendance at both partial exams is required. Any absences from class must be justified by a medical certificate.

*) Two Partial Exams:
Written Midterm Exam (35%): Tentatively scheduled for April 29, 2026.
Written Final Exam (60%): Tentatively scheduled for June 24, 2026.

*) Homework (Vocabulary quizzes, short dialogues using new grammar): 5% Homework must be submitted on time to be considered for grading.

No aids or unauthorized materials are permitted during exams. If an exam is missed due to illness, a make-up exam is only possible upon presentation of a medical certificate.

If you participate in the final exam on June 24, 2026, but do not achieve a passing grade, you are eligible to take the retake exam on July 27, 2026, provided that your total score (from both partial exams) is at least 40. No aids are permitted during the retake exam.

*) Bonus Performance: Students whose final grade falls between 2 and 4 will be given the opportunity to improve their grade through additional assignments. The nature and scope of these assignments will be announced during the first unit of the course.
