Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this course we will read and translate excerpts from "Stories from the Táin", which are about the childhood deeds of the hero Cú Chulainn. These stories are among the most interesting in all of medieval Europe.

Homework (translation), short exam

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Understanding of Old Irish grammar
Facility in translating Old Irish into German

Examination topics

Passages prepared at home will be translated orally in class.
