Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Das Ziel der Lehrveranstaltung ist, ein grundlegendes Verständis der Kerngebiete der allgemeinen Sprachwissenschaft (Phonologie, Morphologie, Syntax und Semantik) zu erwerben, sowie die Fähigkeit, selbstständig linguistische Analysen an sprachlichen Daten durchzuführen. Weiters werden Grundkenntnisse in dem Softwarepaket LaTeX (https://www.latex-project.org/) vermittelt. Dies soll Studierende darauf vorbereiten, linguistische Formalismen in zukünftigen Seminararbeiten und Abschlussarbeiten mit dem Computer zu erzeugen.

Assessment and permitted materials

Die Benotung basiert auf insgesamt 6 Hausübungen, die die Lösung von sog. Problem Sets involvieren. Dabei handelt es sich um Sammlungen von (typischerweise vereinfachten) linguistischen Daten anhand derer die Studierenden ihre Kenntnis der vermittelten analytischen Methoden demonstrieren werden.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Die 6 Hausübungen machen jeweils ⅙ der Gesamtnote aus. Die Hausübungen müssen vor dem jeweiligen Fälligkeitsdatum als PDF-Dokument auf Moodle hochgelanden und mithilfe von LaTeX erzeugt sein.

Examination topics

Die Hausübungen involvieren die Anwendung des im Unterricht besprochenen Materials und setzen außerdem die Lektüre der begleitenden Literatur voraus.

Die in der Lehrveranstaltung besprochene Literatur wird über die Moodle verfügbar sein.
