Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The focus of this bachelor seminar will be the investigation of psycholinguistic research questions. At the beginning of the seminar we will discuss whether it will be empirically oriented (incl. the development of an experimental design) or focused on research summary and review (incl. aspects of meta-analysis). Some work will be done in small project groups. The seminar's language will be English, although the language used for writing the thesis can also be German.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students are expected to do the readings assigned before coming to class, come to class, participate actively by asking and answering questions (20% of the grade), make presentations (30% of the grade), and write their BA thesis (50% of the grade).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students are expected to:
1. do the readings assigned before coming to class, come to class (max. two absences) and participate actively by asking and answering questions. These contributions will factor with 20% into the final grade.
4. make approx. 2 presentation (30 % of the grade)
5. write their BA thesis (50% of the grade).

Attendance at the first teaching unit is required (admission to the course, allocation of remaining places if necessary). This course requires regular attendance by participants to discuss presentations and input from the course instructor and from other students. Two unexcused absences are permitted. Repeated absences without good reason will result in a negative assessment of the whole class.
