Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Basic pronunciation and intonation of Irish, particularly regarding the association of written Irish with the appropriate sound are the focus of this course. To this end, simple dialogues are used for practice. This course is suitable for all levels those who have neglected the pronunciation of Irish or those who are learning it for the first time. At the beginning, the basic sound associated with Irish will be practised. Later, when students who are attending the parallel lecture and who are learning Irish for the first time have had a chance to learn a bit about the basic structure of the language, dialogues will be used.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The goal of this course is to improve oral skills when speaking Irish.
Examination topics
interactive - The students are expected to practise at home. In some cases recordings will be made available for this purpose.
Reading list
I recommend, that every student has a dictionary (e.g. Foclóir Póca, Publ. An Gúm). There are alternatives in the internet (focloir.ie) but they often give the student too much information. Working with small compact dictionary is generally easier. A group order can be arranged to keep postage and packing costs low.
