Aims, contents and method of the course

In seinem zehn Bücher umfassenden Hauptwerk "Der Staat" stellt sich Platon der Analyse komplexer philosophischer Begriffe wie 'Gerechtigkeit', 'Staat' und 'Seele'. Dazu verwendet er viele heute nicht mehr gebräuchliche (uneigentliche) Formen des Redens und Erklärens wie Utopie, Mythos und Gleichnis.
Im Seminar wollen wir ausgewählte Passagen des Dialogs lesen und uns einen Überblick über Platons staatsphilosophisches Denken verschaffen.
