In view of its far-reaching subject matter, the lecture will have to leave out a lot, but it would like to bring paradigmatic Western-Western and East-Asian concepts into the conversation in such a way that both older and newer ways of thinking become apparent with regard to their forms and shapes. How do ancient Greek and ancient Chinese ways of thinking meet? What experiences and perspectives are involved? How do "knowledge" and "experience" relate to each other, what does "transcendental" mean compared to "empirical thinking"? What are criticisms of a life-relevant philosophy? What do "hermeneutic" and/or "phenomenological" thinking want to show? Can post-structuralist and post-Marxist conceptions be combined, especially when they are instructed to be post- and decolonial?
Another focus and constant point of reference will be dedicated to the question of the differently dimensioned "language forms", how they differ from one another and at the same time remain related to one another, as if there were: concept, word, metaphor, image.
The event also sees itself as a "discussion lecture" where questions from the students are welcome.
