Aims, contents and method of the course

Topics, problems and debates of the current philosophy of mind at the interface to psychology and the cognitive sciences. What is the mystery about consciousness? - We work on and discuss the following topics: phenomenal consciousness, perception, mental states and representations, consciousness and the brain, body/soul problem; consciousness, thought and language (epistemology); do animals have conciousness? conciousness/thinking and artificial intelligence (computers, robots); philosophical problems of neuroscience.
