Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecuter gives an overview over various methodological approaches of psychological research with a particular focus on experimental and quasi-experimental designs. In addition the issues validity, sampling (random, stratified and cluster sampling), sample size planning, missing values, mixed methods and further selected chapters such as the PISA methodology are dealt with. Special emphasis is put on the practical implementation of the methodology by means of appropriate software.

Assessment and permitted materials

Final exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Acquaintance with the most important aspects of research design and implementation and the consequences for the interpretation. First contact with the necessary procedures and software for the practical implementation.
