Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Course objectives:

1. Get an overview of current scientific literature on the biological basis of stress, its effects on physical health, and how it interacts with a wide range of social-affective psychological phenomena.

2. Learn to read and understand scientific research papers:
- Learn to critically read a research paper and extract its “main message”
- Learn to summarize and reflect on papers (in oral presentations and discussions)
- Learn to integrate different perspectives on the same topic
- Practice in developing new research questions motivated by existing literature

Assessment and permitted materials

1. Oral presentations

3. Active participation in group discussions
