The course will be provided in hybrid form (face-to-face classes + digital), where the students will be divided in two groups (~10 students per group). Each week, one group will have a face-to-face practical lesson and exercises on computers for the first 2h, while the other group will connect via conference call in the last hour and lead a group discussion on the previously assigned literature.Aims of TEWA 2:
1. Learn to prepare and analyse data (face-to-face practical lessons and exercises, home assignments):
a) data preparation - cleaning and manipulating data sets – using R and Excel
b) visually presenting the data – scatter plots, bar charts, line charts, etc. – using R and Excel
c) analysing the data – t-test, ANOVA, correlations – using JASP (similar to SPSS)
2. Gain an understanding of the state of the art knowledge of the neurobiological basis of a chosen clinical condition (online journal clubs)
3. Gain hands-on experience with the TMSStudents will choose research questions in groups, analyse the data and prepare a poster presentation at the end of the semester. Research questions and the data will be offered by the lecturers and will concern the topics of: (1) reward consumption during COVID-19 crisis depending on the presence of different clinical symptoms (e.g. depression), (2) change in the social perception of groups during the COVID-19 crisis
