Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar will critically examine a number of the major debates in the comparative literature on voting behaviour and public opinion. The works discussed draw primarily on research conducted in North America and Western Europe. Topics include models of voting behaviour, voter turnout, partisanship, economic voting, campaigns, the media and gender.
