Aims, contents and method of the course

The master-seminar is for students who are at the end of their studies and are planning or already writing a master's thesis. The seminar accompanies the conception and development of students’ master theses, focusing on the development of research designs. It supports students in finding a topic, in developing a research question, in the theoretical and methodological conception of the master thesis, and also offers a space to discuss the structure or chapters of the master thesis. The seminar is based on the presentation and discussion of the student’s (planned) theses.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Preparation of a preliminary 2-3 pages proposal of the master thesis
- Presentation of the master thesis concept
- Writing of the master thesis concept
- Regular appearance and active participation in the discussions

The literature will be introduced in the first session and made available on the Moodle-platform.
