Aims, contents and method of the course

Methods: interactive teaching, in the sessions, in the student forum (Moodle). In this seminar, the various work sections and texts will be developed and discussed together

Information for students
The course is primarily aimed at master’s students in the Cultural and Social Anthropology degree programs (in the MM3 compulsory module: Disciplinary Specialization/MM5A) can be selected as CREOLE-Material Culture. The number of participants is limited to 20 students, independent enrollment is not possible. Please come to the first session of the seminar. Here the places will be allocated and everything else will be discussed.

Assessment and permitted materials

Type of performance assessment: (presentation: impulse presentation approx. 20 min.) Seminar paper of approx. 6500 words (20 pages), all aids are permitted.
Active participation in the discussion: 20%
Activity in the student forum: 30%
Final presentation: 20%
Final paper: 30%

Structure: 35%
Argumentation: 35%

Examination topics

Excursion: We will have the opportunity to visit the Kilengi Gallery and the Artfact collection at the KSA Institut to gather information on the artfacts for our seminar.
