Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to the theory of partial differential equations
Contents: 1. Quasilinear first order equations: method of characteristics.
2. Linear second order equations: elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic equations. Fundamental solutions, weak and distributional solutions, Sobolev spaces, Fourier analysis, variational methods.
