Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In the introductory Number Theory lecture we will investigate divisibility and prime factorization in the ring of integers, with congruences and residue class groups. Quadratic residues, The reciprocity theorem and continued fractions are dealt with as well.
The lecture introduces the fundamental concepts and methods of elementary Number Theory, partly in connection with algebraic methods.
