Electrons in the solid state: free electron gas, energy band structure, electronic transport effects, spectroscopy
Modern materials: semiconductors, low-dimensional solids, nano-materials.
Statistical physics is treated in E IV only marginally and elaborated in more detail in T IV.
The exercises for the lecture offer the students the opportunity to deepen and extend the lecture content. For this purpose, examples and problems from the subject area of the lecture are treated as computational exercises. The PUE should also serve as preparation for the module exam and is strongly recommended for this purpose.
