Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In small groups (<20) five main topics in general chemistry (molecules & structures, gases, equilibrium, electrochemistry and thermodynamics) will be covered through a combination of problem solving, discussion, practical examples. The main goal is to help the students to understand these important concepts and theories, not by just memorizing formulas and calculation steps, but by understanding the concepts and the principles behind the calculations. The content of the course is part of the StEOP Modülprüfung Einführung in die Chemie – Grundlagen.
Assessment and permitted materials
Active participation in the discussion and the problem solving.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
For a positive assessment with “successfully participated”:
1. attendance in at least 4 of the 5 sessions
2. active participation in the discussion and in problem solving
1. attendance in at least 4 of the 5 sessions
2. active participation in the discussion and in problem solving
Examination topics
See the Einführung in die Chemie - Grundlagen exam.
