Aims, contents and method of the course
The course offers a comprehensive introduction to the approaches, ways, and methods of chemistry education research. It aims to support students in theoretically and methodologically designing their own research project for the master’s thesis and in planning how they will conduct it. As part of the course, participants will prepare a thesis proposal (exposé), which will subsequently be submitted for official registration. The course is structured to alternate between methodological input phases, discussions, and working sessions, thereby fostering both the acquisition of foundational knowledge and the independent development and reflection of project ideas.
Assessment and permitted materials

* Preparation of a thesis proposal (exposé) and a preliminary outline for the master’s thesis
* Presentation of own research project
* Active participation in the presentations and in providing feedback to peers

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A positive assessment requires regular and active participation as well as the submission of the thesis proposal (exposé).
