Aims, contents and method of the course
The metabolome is defined as the quantitative complement of low-molecular-weight metabolites present in a biological system. Accordingly metabolomics aims at the comprehensive analysis of the metabolic state either of a cell, or an organism or a body fluid under a given set of physiological conditions. Aim of the lecture series is to learn about analytical strategies and corresponding analytical techniques in this relatively young - omics - discipline.
