The lecture deals with solution strategies for numerical problems in astronomy. Basics in a programming language (Fortran77 and Fortran90) as well as numerical methods applied to a series of standard problems
(including their physical background) are discussed. Additionally, topics like optimization, debugging, graphical presentation of numerical results and a brief overview of vector- and parallel computing are presented.
