Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students will learn the basics of seismology, the structure of the Earth, as well as about the Earth's magnetic and gravity fields. They will be introduced to the phenomena and processes of isostasy, tides and plate tectonics. They will be familiarized with geophysical exploration methods through practical exercises.

Assessment and permitted materials

2 exams: 1) written examination on theory (50%); 2) solution of a geophysical exploration problem (50%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The results for both exams must be positive
