Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Students do know the distribution, measurement and analysis of the most important hydro(geo)logical parameters. They do know the basic equations for groundwater flow and transport in 3D space. They do know analytical and numerical methods to solve flow and transport problems. They do know analytical and numerical methods to solve flow and transport problems. They are able to build a simple groundwater model and do understand boundary conditions, numerical discretization, calibration and validation of groundwater flow models.
Assessment and permitted materials
The examination of the courses is based on four individual evaluations. The contribution of each part to the final grade of the course is given in brackets. Examinations will not be repeated since no individual exam is mandatory to pass the module.1) Successful oral group or individual presentation (10%)
Dates will be scheduled on the first meeting on 04.10.2017
2) Exercises (20%)
80% presence at the exercise is mandatory. Evaluation will be based on the presentation of the exercises by the students during the semester.
3) Written test (45%)
Questions regarding all mentioned topics on hydrogeology. Date is 31.01.2018 at 9:15 till 10:45. You need to bring a calculator. No other aid is allowed.
4) Modeling course (25%)
For the positive completion of the modelling course at least 51 points have to be attained AND 100% of presence at the course (19.-23.02.2018) is mandatory.
Dates will be scheduled on the first meeting on 04.10.2017
