Aims, contents and method of the course

ECTS points: 2.8
Lectures: Overview of isotopes, historical development, carbon isotopes, behavior of stable isotopes in natural processes (kinetic effects, fractionation, etc.), mass spectrometry, schematic construction of a mass spectrometer and its parts. Lab: demonstration of mass spectrometer, preparation of own samples, measurement and data reduction.
