Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture provides basic definitions and knowledges on hydrology as well as an overview on hydrological data, data sources and on typical tasks of hydrology. Main focus: water balances, its elements and their investigation, hydrological processes and influencing factors, generation of floods and low flows, hydrological models, hydrological forecasts and warning systems
Special focus: connections to and interaction with meteorology
The lecture includes a 3 to 4 hour excursion.

Assessment and permitted materials

written exam at the end of semester (also possible during the following semester)
Examination will be held without any documents or aids

Examination dates:
1) 11th February 2026, 15:00-16:30 hrs
2) 04th March 2026, 15:00-16:30 hrs

Information about themes for examination will be given during the semester, in summary no later than December 2025
