Der Data Scientist wurde vom Harvard Business Review zum „Sexiest job in the 21st century” gekürt. Da rund 80% aller Businessdaten einen Raumbezug aufweisen, ist von einem verstärkten Bedarf nach
Spatial Data Scientists auszugehen. Dies sind Analytiker, die die räumliche Komponente in der Problemerkennung über die Analyse zur Visualisierung entsprechend berücksichtigen und damit Mehrwerte in der Prozessoptimierung erzielen. Diese Lehrveranstaltung dient den Studierenden ihre Berufsmöglichkeiten zu erweitern und ist interdisziplinär (Geographie, Statistik, Mathematik, Computer Science) angesiedelt.Ziele:
Studierende sind mit den Grundlagen der räumlichen Statistik und der Spatial Data Science vertraut, und erarbeiten aktuelle Trends und Entwicklungen in diesem modernen Berufsfeld. Sie sind in der Lage, diese Methoden in diversen Industrien oder auch in der Forschung einzusetzen, deren Integration in Geoinformationssysteme zu bewerkstelligen und darauf aufbauend Fragestellungen zu lösen.
