Aims, contents and method of the course
Seminar on trends and cases of population mobilities to, from, and within Southeast Asia. Southeast Asian economic development and spatial inequality. Intersectionality of gender, race, class, and nationality that underlies mobilities of labor, goods, capital, ideas and images across geographical spaces. Reconsidering the relevance of categoriesmigrant, refugee, tourist, resident, etc.in light of increasingly complex and flexible population mobilities in Southeast Asian contexts
Assessment and permitted materials
The grading will be derived from the students’ active participation, written reports and from the oral presentations in the seminar
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Examination topics
In this seminar students are asked to work autonomously on a certain research topic and to present results orally as well as in written form.
