Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar aims at a critical and sober discussion of mainstream textbooks. In view of the widely discussed failures of mainstream economics to forecast and successfully manage economic crises this seems to be an urgent task.

The method of the seminar is that every student has to prepare and present a speech of about half an hour, which will be followed by discussions.

Assessment and permitted materials

The seminar is "prüfungsimmanent", which means that the presentations, summary of presentations and contribution to the discussions form the basis for evaluation and the mark.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presence at the seminar according the rules for "prüfungsimmanente" courses.
Marking: presentation (including powerpoint-file): 80%; written and oral contributions to the seminar discussions: 20%
