Aims, contents and method of the course

Europe and Austria are "unthinkable" without their historical borders. As well as Europe and Austria are "unthinkable" without their doings to sourmount borders. During the course the relationship between landscapes of reality and landscapes of hope after Davy 2004 as well as the basic concepts of border and cooperation will be stressed.
In the frame of this theoretical context the course will give on the example of different cases (greater viennese region, alpine space, southeast european region) insight views of this topics. Due to field works the participants have to deal with different techniques of the empirical social sciences (e.g. in-depht interviews).
