Aims, contents and method of the course
An overview over the main development phases and trends of spatial planning, urban planning and urban design is given. The main focus is put on Central Europe (Germany, Austria) as well as on Northern and Western Europe in the last two centuries. We will not deal so much with institutional changes but mainly with planning concepts and concrete results of planning activities.
