Aims, contents and method of the course

- Introduction to the programming language Python
- Basic knowledge about static and dynamic modelling processes and GIS-supported modelling
- Knowledge about digital data pre- and postprocessing
- Autonomous application of models and manipulation of model codes
- Automation of the execution of models; scripting
- Ability for reliable assessment and interpretation of modelling results

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Attendance (absence on max. 2 units)
- Homework (positive evaluation of min. 2 out of 4 for admission to the examination, 30% of final grade)
- Examination (40% of final grade; 90 minutes)
- Term Paper (30% of final grade; min. 3 pages, in terms of a technical report)

- Independent solution of a number of defined tasks in the concluding lesson --> Examination
- Evaluation of modelling results and structural summary in terms of a technical report --> Term Paper
