Factors influencing the disposition and triggering factors will be highlighted, as well as modelling of processes including the underlying physical mechanisms. Furthermore, problems arising when dealing with intensity and probability will be presented.
The ideas behind the concept of integral risk management, above all risk assessment as well as the planning and implementation of technical and non-technical mitigation measures will be presented. The lecutere will end with a discussion of possibilities in risk transfer mechanisms, including the relevance of insurances against losses arising from natural hazards.
