Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture aims at introducing into economic policy at a basic level. The fields of economic policy are illustrated by empirical examples of Austrian policy institutions (governance) , practices and performances.

The content of the lecture comprises the following chapters:
1. Introduction and overview; 2. Goals, indicators and trade-offs in economic policy; 3. Instruments and decision units in economic policy; 4. Growth and technology policy; 5. Business cycle and Stabilisation policy; 6. Social policy, distribution policy; 7. Regional policy; 8. European economic policy; 9. Implementation, Realisation of economic policy.
