Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
In-class discussions and group work on reading and writing assignments.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Evaluation is based on attendance and participation in class (50%) and completion of homework assignments (50%). Attendance is required: two absences (excused or unexcused) will be allowed before your grade is affected (approx. 1 grade point per two additional absences).There will be weekly reading and homework assignments, some of which will include a written assignment to be collected in class. These will account for 1/2 of the final mark.
Examination topics
Discussion and presentation of homework exercises and in-class group work.
Reading list
Readings will be assigned each week.

Course activities will include reading scientific papers, understanding the reasoning and logic in a scientific presentation, writing various kinds of scientific reports and other communications, and discussions topics from the literature.
A student may not get credit for both this course and 300443-1 Scientific Writing: Abstracts and Articles in the same semester.
