Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students will get an overview over the following topics:
1. Genetically modified organisms (GMO);
2. Animal ethics: Animal Protection Law, Animal keeping guidelines; Experiments in animals, Journal guidelines, Alternatives to animal experiments;
3. Eco-ethics: Species extinction, Ecological footprint, Climate change;
4. Medical ethics: Use of humans in biomedical experimentation, Reproductive medicine - In-vitro-fertilisation (IVF), Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), Stem cells research; Passive and active Euthanasia;
5. Scientific integrity: mentoring, scientific misconduct, plagiarism.

Assessment and permitted materials

Multiple Choice-Prüfung mit 40 Fragen;
Anmeldung erfolgt über U:SPACE
Beschränkte TeilnehmerInnenzahl pro Termin.
Bitte Anmeldefrist und Abmeldefrist beachten.

1. Termin: Mi 29. Jan. 2020, 13:15-14:00 Uhr, HS 1.

2. Termin: Mo 15. Juni 2020, Vormittags.

Es handelt sich beim 2. Termin um eine zentral organisierte Präsenzprüfung. Anmeldefrist: 1. bis 8. Juni 2020.

Die 3. Prüfung findet am 30. Sept. 2020 im HS1 im Biozentrum Althanstraße statt (Präsenzprüfung).
