Verpflichtende Vorbesprechung am 2.3.2022 um 13:15 im HS1, UBB, Djerassiplatz 1, 1030 Wien (NEUES GEBÄUDE!!)
inklusive anschließender Labor- und Sicherheitseinschulung bis ca. 16h! Anwesenheit ist dringend erforderlich, da bei nicht Absolvierung dieser Sicherheitseinschulung eine Teilnahme am Kurs nicht möglich ist. Es sind dazu auch ein baumwollener Labormantel und bei langen Haaren auch entsprechende Haargummiringerl, Klemmen mitzubringen. Bei nicht Einhaltung ist die Teilnahme an der Sicherheitseinschulung und daher auch am Kurs nicht möglich!

Bitte nach Anmeldephase die Wunschparallele an doris.engelmeier@univie.ac.at senden. Fixe Kurseinteilung findet in der Vorbesprechung statt. Wer keine Parallele angibt, wird einer Parallele zugeteilt.
Sollte die Anzahl der Anmeldungen die vorhandenen Plätze übersteigen, könnte es nach Genehmigung der SPL weitere Parallelen am Mittwoch geben. Derzeit sind nur die Dienstagskurse anzuwählen!

Zugang zu Uni-Gebäuden: generell 2,5G - Verpflichtung
In allen Innenräumen der Universität gilt FFP2-Maskenpflicht. Nach Rücksprache mit Expert*innen gilt dies zur Minimierung des Infektionsrisikos nun auch für Vorträge oder Redebeiträge.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course includes functional plant anatomy and plant physiology. The plant anatomy course explains single cells, tissues and organs of higher plants with the help of microscopically objects. Plant Physiology course introduces molecular and chemical basics of life and pathways. The experimental part will deepen the theoretical topics. Topics: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, enzymes, fermentation, respiration, photosynthesis, plant-water relations, and sensory systems of plants.

Assessment and permitted materials

Collaboration during the practical class, anatomical drawings; intermediate testing (Physiology; multiple choice), written examination over all to test the acquired knowledge, providing a written short protocol (Physiology).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Fundamental knowledge of plant anatomy and physiology. Point-based system: For a positive graduation 60 % of the points have to be reached. Into the evaluation collaboration, intermediate testing, drawings, short protocol and written main examination are integrated.

Examination topics

Introductory further readings and adjacent microscopic, experimental, and analytical work.
