SE Seminar in human Evolution, human osteology, and paleogenomics for Master and PhD Students (2018W)
Aims, contents and methods
Students will present and critically discuss their anthropological MA and PhD theses as well as key papers/posters at different stages, from the deveklopment of research questions, literature review, data collection, quantitative method, and main results. and successful completion. The aims of the seminars include:
1. To provide stduents with training in hypothesis development, research questions and literature review at a graduate level
2. The course also aims to further develop the graduate student's skills in research, synthesis of infomration, presentation of results, and the critical assess of other studies
3. The course will foster the learning skills for study and writing, including the critical reviewing of relevant material, and a bibliography - relevant to a specific research project proposal.
4. To provide students with training, including feedback and support for presentations of scientific results in English as talks/seimars and particualry at national and international conference.
5. The written component of the course will focus on the development of both critical synthesis and assessment and of relevant project skills.

Assessment:
10% class participation
40% presentation
50% Essay
