Alle Übungsräume dürfen ausschließlich mit Labormantel und geschlossenen Schuhen betreten werden, ebenso muss eine Laborbrille angeschafft werden - Privatsachen bitte in den Garderoberäumen verstauen.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The practical course in Palaeoproteomics is offering students hands-on experience working with archaeological samples. We will cover basic methods of including sampling bones, followed by the application of wet chemistry protocols for the extraction and purification of proteins, and finally the mass spectrometric analyses of real samples.
The course starts with a brief introduction followed by laboratory exercises, and will end with a short presentation to the class of the new findings.

Assessment and permitted materials

The students will be assessed continuously and will be graded based on their performance in the lab (50%), participation in the class and final presentation in class (50%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participation is mandatory for all days of the course and the presentation of the results.
